Hydra and our Partners
Hydra vendor partner relations are close, committed and mutually beneficial. Vendor partners supply products and solutions whilst the Hydra team work at the 'coal-face' with customers and understand business issues and limitations.
Vendor product research and development is complemented by Hydra's own solutions, research and development. This means the customer benefits by getting the right technology in the right location at the right time.
Our vendor partner list is extensive and continually evolving.
1E was formed back in 1997 by Sumir Karayi, Mark Blackburn and Phil Wilcock who got together whilst working at Microsoft. Highly technical and many years of experience with blue chip organizations, they saw a need to reduce the cost of managing Windows PCs and Servers. Starting with £1500 capital, 1E was built upon a strong belief in technical excellence and team spirit, a tradition that successfully continues today.
Our early projects proved to be very successful. NPI, for instance, reported a 5-fold saving in the cost of running Windows PCs with the RTM version of Microsoft SMS 2.0. Through word of mouth and sheer hard work, 1E gained a reputation as the leading Microsoft Systems Management specialist.
Our first software solutions automated waking-up PCs for patching and saving energy when they were not being used. We were pioneers in PC Power Management and Green IT even though the environment was not a hot topic in those days. We knew we were doing the right thing in helping companies reduce their waste at the same time as saving them money. Since then we have added further solutions that are focussed on cost savings; solutions that reduce branch office based servers, reduce helpdesk calls through automation and reduce software licence waste.
Our first conference was back in 2000 at what is now the Microsoft Management Summit and it was a lot of fun. We realized how important it was to get to know our customers and the community and for them to feel part of our extended 1E family. We hosted our first 1E party to say thank you to our supporters and have continued this tradition ever since.
Now more than 10 years later, Sumir remains at the helm as CEO with Mark and Phil still actively involved. Our solutions are market leading and we continue to help our customers save significant amounts of money every day.

At Cisco customers come first and an integral part of their DNA is creating long-lasting customer partnerships and working with them to identify their needs and provide solutions that support their success. The concept of solutions being driven to address specific customer challenges has been with Cisco since its inception. Husband and wife Len Bosack and Sandy Lerner, both working for Stanford University, wanted to email each other from their respective offices located in different buildings but were unable to due to technological shortcomings. A technology had to be invented to deal with disparate local area protocols; and as a result of solving their challenge - the multi-protocol router was born. Since then Cisco has shaped the future of the Internet by creating unprecedented value and opportunity for our customers, employees, investors and ecosystem partners and has become the worldwide leader in networking - transforming how people connect, communicate and collaborate.

Aligning business strategy and the IT infrastructure
The IT infrastructure is key to the success of virtually any major business initiative, from quickly integrating a strategic acquisition to bringing products to market cost-effectively.
Yet traditional IT architectures are static and inflexible. Any sudden change in business requirements forces IT staff to respond with manual, one-off technology fixes that consume time and resources.
F5 provides strategic points of control throughout the IT infrastructure, enabling organizations to scale, adapt, and align with changing business demands and drive business forward on a solid foundation of IT agility.
Why is F5 different?
F5 is the only vendor that provides an open architectural framework, offering IT organizations new ways to deliver services that generate true business value. This unique framework includes:
•F5 TMOS ®
The universal, shared product platform that adds intelligence and complete control to application delivery.
•F5 iRules™
The event-driving scripting language that customizes how application traffic is intercepted, inspected, transformed, and directed.
•F5 iControl®
The open API that helps automate communications and eliminates the need for costly manual intervention.
•F5 Data Management Operating System
The core of F5's scalable and intelligent file virtualization solutions that simplifies and automates data delivery.
And only F5 has DevCentral, a business-driven social networking site where a community of more than 35,000 users share innovations in creating scalable, dynamic networks.

More than ever, we rely on the Internet for global commerce, data exchange, and communication. But as Web usage increases, so to does criminal activity. Motivated by massive profits, criminals with extraordinary technical skill can infiltrate PCs and mine confidential data, track business transactions, or host illicit Web pages and malicious code on servers or personal computers undetected.
One breach in security cangrant access to a goldmine of confidential data. A stolen bank or social security number, or leaked customer, partner, and sales information can allow criminals to wreak financial havoc and damage personal or business reputations. Effective security solutions must be able to protect against a wide range of insidious threats and combined attacks including viruses, spam, phishing, pharming, spyware, rootkits, botnets, targeted Web attacks, and other emerging types of malware. Traditional pattern file-based detection can no longer keep up.
With the introduction of the Trend Micro Smart Protection Network, a next-generation cloud-client content security infrastructure, Trend Micro can now stop threats before they reach users. By utilizing our extensive global network of data centers and a combination of automated and manual systems, Trend Micro Smart Protection Network provides a real-time and continuous feedback loop of threat intelligence. The more products, services, and users access the network, the stronger our threat knowledge and protection becomes.
